Reworld™ is a leader in sustainable waste solutions, providing innovative and environmentally responsible services to a global community.

Located in Preston, Connecticut, the Southeastern Connecticut Resource Recovery Facility is an award-winning Waste-to-Energy Facility that serves the community with reliable and sustainable waste management. In addition to keeping waste out of landfills, we’re committed to ensuring safe operations and minimizing environmental impacts.

We have been consistently recognized for exceptional operations, including OSHA’s stringent Voluntary Protection Program Star certification. Every year, our facility processes more than 240,000 tons of waste that would otherwise have ended up in landfills.

Our Commitment: What you can count on from us, as we make an impact together

Our mission to build a smarter, more sustainable world may sound simple, but we know what it takes to make a difference on a global scale. It takes the determination to protect people and communities, no matter what. It takes a willingness to learn through experience, and commit to doing better. It takes dedication to partnership and service. And it takes vision, always seeing the potential for a better future. Together, let’s reimagine what’s possible.

  • Safety & Compliance: Setting the standard when it comes to workplace safety.

  • Community:  Our pledge as we take action to achieve more together

  • Sustainability:  Ensuring a bright future in partnership with those we serve

Powering Connecticut

Millstone produces enough electricity to power 2 million homes and provides New England and Connecticut with round-the-clock, low cost, and carbon-free electricity that helps the state fulfill carbon-reduction goals.
In addition to providing inexpensive, clean, reliable electricity, the station produces other benefits:
  • Supporting almost 4,000 jobs
  • Producing over $1.5 billion in annual economic benefits to Connecticut
  • Generating the equivalent of nearly half the electricity consumed in Connecticut
  • Generating more than 90 percent of the state’s carbon-free electricity
  • Preventing 8.3 million metric tons of CO2 from being released each year

"Millstone's commitment to Environmental Stewardship ensures that we are protecting our natural resources while continually seeking ways to improve the station's environmental performance. I have been provided many opportunities for learning and growth and am excited to participate in the future of Millstone Power Station. In the Environmental Lab, we truly are a team - sharing knowledge and skills as we safely work together to monitor the marine biological communities surrounding the plant."
