Project Longevity | The Power of Opportunity
Project Longevity, in the cities of Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, and Waterbury. Norwich and New London focuses on reducing group and gun violence, minimizing harm to communities through deterrence and targeted enforcement, care coordination, and community outreach for returning offenders, victims, and their families.
Project Longevity provides an array of services to individuals at a higher risk of gun violence, including those with previous felony convictions, homelessness, and drug market involvement as well as mental health and substance abuse issues. The program is open to all ages and is free of charge.
To get people on the right track, Project Longevity provides services such as housing, vocational training, and mentoring in addition to mental health and substance abuse support.
About the Justice Education Center: For over 48 years, The Justice Education Center's mission has been to improve the lives of children, youth, and adults through increasing community safety, reducing crime and violence, and providing educational and wellness opportunities for Connecticut’s children, youth, and families.
