Connecticut Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America is a co-ed program for youth ages 5-21. The council covers two-thirds of the State of CT comprising 127 cities and towns. The Council is divided into 8 districts of which "Mohegan" is a perfect imprint to Southeastern Connecticut. Mohegan District (greater Norwich and New London) serves nearly 2700 youth or 15% of the total council membership (18,000 youth).

The mission statement for Boy Scouts of America is to "Prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of The Scout Oath and Law"
